Ms. Jess is Owner and Teacher at God's Garden. She has 9 years combined experience, education & training in the Child Care field and Early Childhood Education.

My Story

As an only parent to a very gifted but challenging boy. I discovered early in his life my passion for teaching and caring for children. I attended Washburn University and majored in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in Childhood Psychology.

While in college, I worked for a Group Child Care Home as the second adult for two years. This allowed me to learn all the rules and regulations of running a home child care business before I was ready to branch out on my own. It was a great opportunity for me to learn from an experienced professional while still earning my degree.

After college, I worked for a Child Care Center as the Lead Teacher in the 2 year old room for 2 years.

Then, in March of 2012, I made the switch and started my own business as a Home Child Care Provider. In August of 2013, I established God's Garden Home School and became a certified private school with the Kansas State Board of Education for Prek - 12th Grade and brought my son home from public school and began the wonderful homeschool journey we are now on. I love every minute of it!
